JoBat update

A Virtual World of Infotainment :)

Reliance Jio is once again giving 10GB free data under its Jio Celebration Pack.
The new Celebration pack is valid for 5 consecutive days and offers 2GB data per day over and above the current data benefit.
The new pack is available only for Jio Prime users.

But like the other Jio plans, you will not find this plan on the official website of Jio.
The Celebration Pack is rolling out to random users.
You have to check through MyJio App if the plan is available for you not.

To recall, Jio launched the Celebration Pack last year in September on company's second anniversary!

Here’s a screenshot from my friend, who grabbed the offer...

Petta had its theatrical release on January 10!
The film has set the box office in fire and continuing its successful run across the globe.
Petta is a tribute more than a movie, "For the Rajini Fans, By the Rajini Fans, Of the Rajini Fans"!

Many claimed that, the first half was Rajini's film and the latter half was Karthik Subbaraj's.
Every Thalaivar fan will get rajinified easily, on seeing the "Superstar" title card itself!
A big hug and canteen scene salute (from Petta) for Karthik Subbaraj for bringing the vintage Thalaivar on-screen!
I bet, no other actor is going to get a film like this one..!

*Spoiler alert*
Those who didn't watch the movie yet, can read this article, once you complete watching the film...

As I mentioned that Petta is a tribute earlier, here are some moments in Petta, that were recreated from the previous Rajini's films...

Title card
That vintage Title card with Annamalai movie's background score, makes us feel nostalgic and gives us instant goosebumps!

Sun and the Star
The scene, where Rajini travels to hostel in a truck, is seen sleeping with a book covering his face, lit by the light of the sun, is inspired from Chandramukhi, where Rajini comes in a bullock cart!

The name 'Kaali'
This is one of the famous on-screen character's name for Rajini after 'Raja', a frequent one!

Lalala
He jump-walks in joy, and sings 'Lalala' after getting the Hostel warden job, which is inspired from Muthu!

Paambu (Snake) joke
In his few previous films, Rajini's character suffers from Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), the character goes speechless, sometimes manages to say 'Pa...Pa' after seeing the snake. But in the film Padayappa, Rajini takes the snake in hand and kiss it. In Petta, Rajinikanth scares out Munishkanth by shouting, 'Paambu...Paambu'!

Marana Mass song
This rocking intro song, is sung by Anirudh Ravichander and the legendary SPB, who has crooned for maximum number of Rajini's introduction songs! The dance steps were choreographed beautifully, which were Rajini's vintage dance moves, indeed. The lyrics of the song suits him well!

Climbing down the stairs
He gets a rousing welcome by the freshers, with party poppers blasting around, while he climbs down the stairs, which is inspired from Baashha, when Manik Baashha climbs down the stairs and receives the same sort of welcome!

Rolling chair
Rajini pulls Michael's father, sitting in a rolling chair to him and advises him, which looked similar to a scene in Baashha, where Rajini sits in a rolling chair, rolls towards an enemy and advises him.

Baby in the Train
In Petta, wife of Rajini's friend Maalik gives birth to a baby boy in the train, which is inspired from the film Thalapathi, where Rajini (baby) is abandoned and placed in a goods train by his mother.

Musical instruments
Rajini plays Mouth organ in the song 'Ullaallaa', which he used previously in the film Padayappa. He also plays a Mandolin (not sure) in the same song, which he used in the song 'Ra Ramaiya' from the movie Baashha.

Opening the gate
The way, Rajini opens the gate is exactly same, as how he opened the gate in his debut film 'Apoorva Raagangal'!

Saved by his child
In the climax gun fight, at one instance, Vijay Sethupathi (Rajini's son-for-sometime) saves Rajini from getting hit by a bullet, that looked similar to a scene from Kabali, where Rajini is saved by his daughter Dhanshika.

Climax song
In the climax, Rajini dances for the song 'Raman Aandaalum' from Mullum Malarum, one of the best movies of Rajinikanth. An another interesting fact is that, Rajini's name is Kaali in this film too!

Characters
Saro (name of Trisha's character) is inspired from Sarojini (character from Thillu Mullu), Rajini's love interest, who was called Saro in short, by Rajini.
Anwar (name of Sananth's character) is inspired from Anwar Baashha (character from Baashha), friend of Rajini, who gets killed infront of Manikkam (Rajini), later then, Manikkam changes his name as Manik Baashha.

Body language
His style, charisma and energy didn't fade off from him though he is in his 60's (like how, Ramya Krishnan says in the movie Padayappa). When I looked at Thalaivar in Petta, I wondered whether Thalaivar's age has come down or my age has got reduced!
The way he shuffles his hair, his humorous talk, the words he use to call people (like 'Kuzhandhai', 'Kanna'), his thunderous laugh, the way he wipes his tears, his amulet (the kappu, which he worn previously in Padayappa), the way he wears his sunglasses, the way he brings on fire from nowhere, and so on.

The Star symbol
In Petta, the Star sign was used in some objects like the party flag of Singaar Singh and the green truck provided by Bobby Simha's dad.

Likewise, there are lot of things, that can be listed out here, which is inspired from our one and only Thalaivar 'Superstar' Rajinikanth!

Bonus Read
Shades of Jigarthanda

Though, Petta is filled with 100% Rajinism, there were some frames, that reminds us of Karthik Subbaraj's comedy-gangster movie 'Jigarthanda'!
Here are some Jigarthanda moments from 'Petta'.,

Cast
Most of the supporting actors like 'Aadukalam' Naren, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Ramachandran Durairaj, Thennavan were previously seen in Jigarthanda.

Blackboard
In Jigarthanda, the protagonist draws three monkeys and a lion in the blackboard and names them as antagonists. Here, Rajini does the same, but, only with three monkeys!

Malardhum Malaradha song
This particular song was used in the background of both the films., In Jigarthanda, the song is played during the filming of an assassination scene and in Petta, the song is played in a radio, when Rajini waits for the arrival of local goons to fight!

Street side chat
In Jigarthanda, the protagonist and an old man have a conversation in an empty-road pavement during night time, near the closed shops and the same frame is set in Petta, where Rajini and Vijay Sethupathi have a chat. Both of the scenes are the turning points in the respective movies!

Besides these factors, the dialogue "Sirappana Tharamaana Sambavam", Benz car, colorful lighting were the other things, which were found to be similar in both the movies of Karthik Subbaraj!
